‘Time stops in the middle of a black hole..’

Aubrey and I were having a conversation yesterday about space, time, physics, aliens, black holes, infinity etc. And he said that he watched a video which said that scientists had found that time stops in the centre of a black hole. Now, I find this really difficult to understand. How does time stop? Surely, as long anything else is happening, time is still happening. Time is just a name given to progress, or growing, or change, or existence. Time is just a way of measuring the age or evolution of something, it just is and it can’t be got rid of. That’s my opinion of it. I need to find this video because I can’t wrap my head round the time stopping thing. Unless ‘time stops’ is just a way of describing how everything pauses in a black hole, everything gets obliterated and thus nothing happens? As far as I’m concerned, if things are destroyed as soon as it enter the black hole, but the earth has life and change/evolution and the rest of the universe has stuff happening, then time still exists. Time is not subject to where in the universe it is, it just keeps going. I could talk for years. I won’t. Ahhhhh
